The Christmas Carol Everybody Knows

Thinking about our Troops away from home today, I think about how many times you hear that soldiers were singing Silent Night while they were huddled together, far away from home. This is the Christmas Carol everybody knows. It is the one we will sing tonight at the end of our Christmas Eve service. It will be broadcast on radio and TV many times today and tomorrow.

Hope you are just about prepared to put aside everything else and enjoy family and friends on this Christmas Eve. God Bless America; God Bless Us All as we celebrate the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Here are the words for you:

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth "
